About Me

Hello! My name is Yuki, and I’m the host and instructor at YUZU WASHOKU STUDIO. I look forward to welcoming you to my kitchen studio, where we can enjoy cooking together.

Let me share a little about myself. I spent my student years in the United States, where I often hosted home parties, serving dishes like onigiri, karaage, tonkatsu, and curry to my friends on weekends. Among these, curry rice was especially popular, and my friends frequently requested that I make it again and again. Even after returning to Japan, I was surprised and delighted to receive messages asking for my recipes, knowing that my friends truly appreciated Japanese cuisine. Today, as a mother of two boys, I continue to enjoy sharing meals with my family and others.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to several countries, creating wonderful memories thanks to the kindness and hospitality of the people I met. Now, I’d like to help you create similarly special memories during your visit to Japan.

In 2013, Japanese cuisine (washoku) was recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. This acknowledgment highlights its deep cultural significance, the traditions passed down through generations, and the ongoing efforts across Japan to preserve and celebrate washoku. Japanese cuisine features unique cooking techniques and well-balanced meal compositions, offering a thoughtful way to enjoy food.

I hope my studio can spark your interest in Japanese cuisine. I look forward to welcoming you to my kitchen studio in Tokyo, where we can create lasting memories together.
